Toronto police have arrested a third suspect in connection with a fatal shooting earlier this month.
Nnamdi Ogba, 26, was shot to death while walking to his car in a Toronto Community Housing complex on Scarlettwood Court in Etobicoke on March 16th, after visiting friends.
Katrina Arrogante of Corporate Communications confirmed to Newstalk 1010 Friday afternoon that Homicide detectives had made a third arrest in the case.
"The alleged driver, Abdirahman Islow, which is 27 years old of no fixed address, had been arrested last night and was charged with first degree murder," she said. "He made his first appearance this morning at Old City Hall and was remanded until April 13th at 2201 Finch."
Earlier Thursday, Police officers arrested 19 year old Trevaughan Miller and 22 year old Abdullahi Mohamed on first-degree murder charges.
Contrary to some reports that have surfaced, Arrogante could not confirm if the third suspect was the getaway driver of the car after the shooting of Ogba.
"No I don't have any confirmation that the person that has been arrested was the getaway driver in that particular investigation."
Officials have said that Ogba was an innocent bystander caught in a dispute between residents of two neighbourhoods.
