Thousands of people attended the Women's March in downtown Toronto Saturday.
It's happening on the first anniversary of Donald Trump's inauguration, a year after millions of people rallied worldwide at marches for female empowerment.
Toronto's march is one of many held around the world Saturday including cities in the U.S. like New York and Los Angeles.
Organizers say they feel a sense of momentum they could not have predicted when they first took to the streets a year ago, when millions of women demonstrated across the globe.
Activists including Sara Bingham of Women's March Canada point to the #MeToo movement as one example of the way women's voices are being heard more clearly now than they were a year ago.
