Once again, the City of Toronto has announced that a stretch of King Street will be closed in September for the Toronto International Film Festival.
The closure will start on September 7th and run until the 11th, on a stretch between Spadina and University.
But the TTC has been fighting the planned closure, for four years now, citing King Street as the busiest route in the city for streetcar users.
That route alone carries an average of 65,000 passengers a day.
This also comes just before the city launches a pilot project prioritizing streetcars on King Street, to help commuters move quicker into and out of the city.
A spokesperson from the TTC says they'll do their best to make sure people move downtown, during that closure.
"We know TIFF brings hundreds of thousands of people to the city and we're going to work with city officials to make sure that the event goes smoothly."
