Hamilton police have arrested a 17-year-old boy and charged him with four counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm, following a crash that seriously injured five people Saturday afternoon.
Police say shortly after 3:30 p.m., the teenage driver was behind the wheel of a Ford heading northbound on Nebo Road, near Dickenson Road, when he entered the oncoming lane to pass the vehicle in front of him.
That's when his vehicle collided head-on with a southbound Honda being driven by a 29-year-old Hamilton woman. Her passengers included a 2-year-old and a three-week-old infant.
Everyone involved in the crash suffered serious injuries, including the teenager himself and an 18 year old man who was in the vehicle with him.
The boy's name will not be released due to his age.
Hamilton's Collision Reconstruction Unit is now in charge of the investigation, and any witnesses who have yet to speak with investigators are asked to call (905) 546-4753 or (905) 546-4755.
