It's a whole new world for Toronto-based actor Mena Massoud.
He's been cast to play the lead in Disney live-action remake of "Aladdin."
Disney announced the acasting during the D23 Expo, a fan convention in Anaheim, Saturday.
Naomi Scott will star as Jasmine and Will Smith as the Genie. Guy Ritchie will direct.
Massoud is known for his television roles on "Saving Hope" and "Combat Hospital."
He tweeted out his excited response:
