It may not be summer yet, but nine beaches in Toronto officially open for the season this weekend.
Lifeguards will be on duty from 11:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. The lifeguards will be in place until Labour Day.
"City of Toronto beaches are great places to relax, escape the heat and get active," said Mayor John Tory. "I encourage residents to take advantage of the opportunity to go outdoors and cool off this weekend."
These are the beaches opening this weekend:
• Bluffer’s Park Beach
• Centre Island Beach
• Cherry/Clarke Beach
• Gibraltar Point Beach
• Hanlan’s Point Beach
• Kew-Balmy Beach
• Sunnyside Beach
• Ward’s Island Beach
• Woodbine Beach
Marie Curtis Park East Beach and Rouge Beach open on June 16th
