Toronto Police have been warning taxi customers for years, about protecting your debit and credit card information when paying for a cab fare.
They opened the investigation back in 2015, and finally, they think they have the man responsible for allegedly ripping people off.
Adnan Jahangir, 44, of Toronto, was arrested on Wednesday and has been charged with over 180 Fraud-related offences.
It's believed that his card reader was also a skimmer, so he'd end up with your PIN information, but would also swap your card for a fake one that looked similar.
The total value of the fraud is believed to be $100,000, but could even be more, according to police.
"Officers seized cash, counterfeit identification, credit cards and a stolen $70,000 SUV." says Constable Jen Sidhu with Toronto Police.
Jahangir had been working with Co-Op Cabs in Toronto, and so far NEWSTALK1010's calls to the company have gone unreturned.
Police fear there may be more possible victims out there, so the investigation is still very much open.
