For the fourth time since 2011, Toronto Community Housing has a new CEO.
And once again the head of the TCHC has been dismissed amid scandal.
Kathy Milsom was placed on administrative leave in December, after the board says they were alerted of an alleged flaw in the process used to award a contract to a management consultant agency.
The contract with the company, Orchango, was ripped up and TCHC brought in a third party investigator to review what had happend.
In a statement, the board of directors said "Having carefully considered all of the available evidence, the Board has concluded that TCHC CEO Kathy Milsom's conduct throughout this process did not meet the high standard that we set for ourselves. This conduct included overseeing an RFP process that did not comply with the procedures and protocols expected of a public procurement process and failing to fully cooperate with the investigation that has led to this independent report."
The release goes on to say, "As such, we agree that it is in the best interest of the organization that Ms. Milsom cease to be CEO, effective immediately."
Incoming board chair Kevin Marshman says Milsom was fired with cause, so she will not receive any severance.
In response to the dismissal, Toronto Mayor John Tory says problems surrounding the TCHC "have not been a happy story."
But, he backs the move taken by the board.
"I firmly believe that everyone involved in the good governance of City agencies must be held to the absolute highest standards. The Toronto Community Housing board has taken decisive action and I believe the board has made the right decision."
