A proposal to add $13 million from city hall's budget surplus to efforts to support Toronto's 'Vision Zero' road safety program will be voted on by City Council.
Mayor John Tory's Executive Committee passed a motion by a unanimous vote on Tuesday to send the proposal to its final stage.
If approved, the extra funds would bring the budget for the Vision Zero program to roughly $100 million over 5 years.
The plan is aimed at curbing all types of road fatalities by 2021.
