A Toronto neurosurgeon, arrested in December of 2016, will stand trial in the death of his wife.
A judge has ruled that a first-degree murder trial will be held in the case of Mohammed Shamji, who is accused of murdering his wife and dumping her body.
The body of Dr. Elana Fric-Shamji was found in Kleinburg, stuffed inside a suitcase in a wooded area.
Police claim she was killed at her home on either November 30th, or December 1st of 2016.
Shamji has been in custody, denied bail, since his arrest a day after the body was discovered.
The courts will set a date for the trial on April 6th.
