A Toronto police officer has been charged after drugs were allegedly found in his wallet.
Det. Const. Kirk Blake was in Scarborough court in September, acting as a witness to one of his cases within the Guns & Gangs Task Force.
Police say that after he finished his court appearance, Det. Const. Blake left his wallet behind.
The wallet was found by another officer, and police say when the wallet was checked for identification a small amount of cocaine was found inside.
Police say the drugs were unrelated to Det. Const. Blake's official duties.
Blake has been charged with possession of a narcotic.
He is scheduled to appear in court in February.
The 46-year-old has been with Toronto police for 16 years and is a member of the Guns & Gangs Task Force.
