Toronto Police are apologizing after an officer was caught on video telling the man filming,"he's going to spit in your face. You're going to get AIDS."
The comment referred to a suspect who had been tased during an arrest near Dundas St E and Church St on Tuesday morning.
Police issued the apology on social media saying the officer's comment was, "simply wrong."
They say they'll bring in an outside HIV/AIDS expert to educate officers.
The AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) had called for a mandatory educational session.
ACT's Manager of Human Resources, Sergio Martinez says this was not an isolated incident. "It is an incident that, by chance, has been captured on film. We at (ACT) hear stories like this all the time."
