Ontario's police watchdog has charged a Toronto Police constable with assault in connection with an arrest this past October.
The Special Investigations Unit says the officer watched a man on a bike appear to commit a traffic infraction on Queen's Quay near Yonge St. The officer stopped the man and arrested him. The SIU says later, the cyclist went to hospital and was diagnosed with a serious injury.
Douglas Jason Holmes is charged with assault causing bodily harm.
Holmes will be court February 14.
