It was a murder that shook an East York neighbourhood last weekend.
On Saturday, May 26th at approximately 2:15 a.m., officers responded to a 9-1-1 call at a home in the O'Connor Drive and Pape Avenue area.
A mother of three was found lifeless in her home. Speculation was that someone had broken in and killed Rhoderie Estrada.
Sunday evening Toronto Police announced that they had charged a suspect with Estrada's murder.
Detective Mike Carbone made the announcement at a press conference.
"Yostin Murillo 22 years of no fixed address has been charged with one count of first-degree murder."
Carbone would not elaborate on a possible motive for the murder or how Estrada died.
Murillo is scheduled to apepar in a North York court Monday.
Police continue to investigate the murder and are asking anyone who may have come in contact with Murillo either before or after the murder last weekend to contact them.
