Toronto Police have made arrests in two seperate theft investigations from this year.
The Hold Up Squad, along with the Drug Squad and Major Crimes Unit, arrested a total of five people for three retail robberies.
The robberies occurred between January and October of this year, in the Kingston Road and Sheppard Avenue East area.
It is alleged that in case,the suspects entered retail stores, tied up the employees and made of with cell phones.
On Tuesday, four male suspects from Toronto and one male suspect from Whitby, all in their 20's,were arrested and charged with numerous offences, including robbery and uttering threats.
The five appeared in court Wednesday.
A single male suspect, wanted for three Toronto area robberies in October, has also been arrested and charged.
The 34-year-old suspect is accused of entering three stores, filling a backpack with items, then threatening employees with a knife when they tried to stop him.
He was arrested Tuesday and faces 18 charges, including weapons offences and theft and also appeared in court on Wednesday.
