A 17-year veteran of the Toronto Police is spending the weekend behind bars, facing very serious charges.
PC Lionel Peters was arrested yesterday.
He's accused of going to a home on April 22nd, while off-duty, wearing his full inform including his gun belt and firearm and threatening a person over a debt owed to someone else.
It's unclear what he allegedly said but the person reported him immediately to the Toronto Police Service.
The Professional Standards Unit investigated and decided four charges should be laid - threats of bodily harm, extortion, breach of trust by a public officer, and careless storage of a firearm.
PC Peters is suspended and is being held for a bail hearing on Monday.
