Toronto Police are looking to the public to help them identify a man who they allege is behind five bank robberies - three in Toronto, one in Newcastle and one in London.
According to a news release, the suspect deemed the 'LA Bandit' - due to his Dodgers cap - first struck on April 7 of this year, entering a bank near Yonge and Wellesley just after 10 a.m.
He placed a blue bag on the counter and demanded money, while telling the customer service representative that he had a gun in his bag.
He was given a quantity of money and then fled the scene.
Police say he then struck four more times:
He's described as black with a light complexion, 25 to 35 years old and six feet tall. He wore dark sunglasses and his hair was covered with a baseball cap in each incident.
Investigators say he wore a scarf around the lower part of his face in the April 7 incident, and appeared with a black beard and moustache in the May 16 incident.
Anyone who knows the identity of this man or has more information on him is asked to contact police at 416-808-7350, or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
