In solidarity with Saturday's March for Our Lives in Washington, a similar event is being held in Toronto, Saturday, March 24.
According to organizers (Communities for Zero Violence and Zero Gun Violence Movement), the march will start at Nathan Phillips Square at 10am and end at Queens Park at 1pm.
One of the students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School is scheduled to speak, along with other local community members.
Organizers are hoping to draw more than half a million people for Saturday's march in Washington, claiming America has reached an emotional tipping point on gun violence.
With an Associated Press poll showing spiking support for stronger gun control legislation, activists are looking to channel the energy of this youth-led initiative into midterm congressional elections this fall.
