A Toronto tradition for more than 100 years is back.
The 112th Santa Claus Parade takes over the downtown streets on Sunday.
The parade was first held on December 2, 1905 with just a single float, and was operated and funded by the Eaton's chain of department stores.
Since then, it has grown to over 25 floats, 24 bands, and 1,700 participants.
It is now the largest Santa Claus parade in North America and one of the oldest annual parades in the world.
Peter Beresford, the President of the Toronto Santa Claus Parade, says for the first-time this year a float has been built just for Santa that is 12 metres long.
The parade will begin at Christie Pits Park starting at 12:30 p.m. and head east on Bloor Street West, south on Queens Park Crescent and University Avenue, east on Wellington Street and Front Street East and south on Jarvis Street. The parade will finish at St. Lawrence Market.
More than a half million people attend the parade every year.
The parade will be broadcast live on CP24.
But if you can't make it The Santa Claus Parade will air on Sunday, November 20th, at 4:30pm ET/PT on CTV, and 5:30pm AT on CTV Atlantic and on CTV GO.
