Toronto Police are running a campaign this week, focusing on pedestrian safety.
It's called, "STEP UP and Be Safe."
The service says pedestrian fatalities account for 60% of the year's traffic fatalities in the city.
It says seniors are among the most vulnerable, representing 63% of pedestrian deaths.
Police and parking enforcement officers will be watching drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, particularly around crosswalks, intersections and school zones.
Police also note that November and the end of Daylight Saving Time, is traditionally when the most pedestrian involved collisions happen.
They're also encouraging pedestrians to avoid distractions by electronic devices when dealing with vehicle traffic.
