A Quebec trucker has been found guilty of four counts of dangerous driving causing death after a deadly crash on an Ontario highway three years ago.
Justice Bryan Shaughnessy says Mohinder Saini's case wasn't one of mere inattention, but involved a significant period of inattentiveness.
Saini's transport truck plowed into 20 slowed and stopped vehicles on Highway 401 on October 2nd, 2015.
Court heard the trucker had entered a construction zone with lane reductions around 10:30 pm that night.
It heard that he had been travelling around 100 kilometres per hour when he hit the brakes just 1.5 seconds before crashing into a small car and several other vehicles.
The judge also found Saini guilty of nine counts of dangerous driving causing serious bodily injury.
