Durham Regional Police have recovered a stolen TTC bus that had been taken for a joyride into Whitby overnight.
Police tell NEWSTALK 1010 a man called them at about 4:25 a.m., concerned his brother may have stolen a bus as he saw tail lights pull away from his home in Ajax.
Investigators started looking for the bus and joyrider and called around to transit agencies to ask if they were missing a bus.
After about an hour, the empty bus was spotted parked near Cochrane St and Bonacord Ave in Whitby. A 33-year-old man was arrested a few minutes later.
The TTC believes the bus 40-foot bus was stolen from its Birchmount garage.
