The other 5 officers were acquitted.
They'd been writing fake tickets to 'known pan-handlers' to make it seem as though they were working, when the truth was they were slacking off while on the clock.
In a decision that took almost an hour to read to the court, the judge handed Schmidt the most severe penalty of all 3 men.
His sentence is 90 days in jail, to be served on weekends.
He must also abide by house arrest for 9 months, as well as do 150 hours of volunteer work at a charity or shelter that helps homeless people.
Catic's sentence was 45 days spent in jail on weekends, as well as 6 months of house arrest and 100 hours of community service.
Posthumus, who investigators found wrote the fewest phony tickets of the 3 men, received 14 days in jail to be served on weekends, along with 3 months of house arrest and 50 hours of community service.
The judge called their time theft scheme a 'reckless' and 'intentional' abuse of the public's trust in them as sworn community protectors.
He said they behaviour put the people who names they falsely wrote on tickets at risk.
The explanation offered during the trial was that morale among TTC enforcement officers was low at the time of the offences.
They had recently been stripped of their power to arrest and detain by Toronto's civilian police oversight board.
It was a cost-saving measure.
Some transit cops complained that in order to complete critical functions of their work, they had to wait until the police showed up.
Posthumus claims his life has been full of shame and panic since the day he was arrested.
At trial, the judge heard that Posthumus' psychologist diagnosed him with a form of post-traumatic stress disorder.
