Subway closures for 2017 begin next weekend.
The Toronto Transit Commission has scheduled 35 closures between now and Dec. 3.
The first weekend closure is Jan. 21 and 22 on Line 1(Yonge-University-Spadina) between Downsview and St. George stations.
Line 1 will have 18 shutdowns in total.
Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth) will be closed eight times, Line 3 (Scarborough RT) three times, and Line 4 (Sheppard) one time .
The TTC says work is being done to implement an automatic signalling sytem.
It will allow more trains to run at higher speeds and with more reliable travel times.
The TTC had 38 subway closures last year.
