The TTC says a mechanic, "who does not work on frontline service maintenance," has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a letter to employees, TTC CEO Rick Leary says the employee worked one shift at the Duncan Shop on March 11th, after returning from travel, and was sent home sick.
A spokesperson says approximately 130-170 employees are being told to self isolate until March 25th.
The TTC does bus rebuilds and overhauls at the Duncan Shop. It is being disinfected.
It's not yet clear whether this will have an impact on TTC service.
2/2 the employee worked one shift last week at Duncan Shop where we do bus rebuilds/overhauls.
