Two girls are badly hurt and in the hospital after being struck by a mini-van in on Monday afternoon in Scarborough.
The children, both 13-years old, are believed to have been crossing the road at the intersection of Midland and Lockie Avenues when the crash happened.
Toronto Police say one of the girls is seriously hurt, while the other is fighting for her life.
A woman in her 60's who was behind the wheel of the van is being interviewed by investigators.
The crash happened about a block away from Alexander MacKenzie Senior Public School, where the girls are students.
There is no word yet on what went wrong.
Police say its too early to determine whether or not charges will be laid.
