Police have made two arrests in relation to a fire that killed a woman and two dogs in Hamilton.
Emergency crews were called to an apartment for a fire on Monday evening and found one of the unit's occupants without vital signs.
Police say the woman died in hospital and an autopsy is planned today to determine what caused her death.
Investigators say they believe the fire was started deliberately.
They say the apartment's other occupant and a female friend were seen running from the building shortly before 911 was called.
Police say the pair returned to the scene later and were arrested, but there is no word on charges at this point.
