Two bodies have been located at the scene of a deadly fire in Port Colborne.
Fire Chief Tom Cartwright says crews have found two bodies in the Nickel Street home.
Cartwright says while they have located the bodies, they have been unable to remove them from the home.
He says a process is underway to remove the bodies in a respectful manner.
One body is still unaccounted for.
Wind, snow and frigid temperatures have made the recovery effort difficult.
Heavy equipment is once again on the scene today, sifting through the debris.
Cartwright says while the cause of the fire is still under investigation, he confirms that it started in the rear of the home.
The tragic fire started Tuesday morning.
An 83 year old great grandmother was pulled from the home but pronounced dead on scene.
Police have not named the victims, but friends and family identify them as 37-year-old Tammy Burd, her two children, aged 15 and 2, as well as their grandmother, 83-year-old Eva Burd.
Two men, including the children's father, were able to escape the flames.
