Police in Peel are trying to get to the bottom of two stranger assaults in Brampton — and right now it's not clear if they're connected.
Last Wednesday, Aug. 12, a woman was sexually assaulted while walking alone through a greenspace in the area of Steeles Avenue and Hurontario at around 1:15 a.m.
Police say she had gotten off of a bus shortly before and was approached by a man she didn't know. He sexually assaulted her, but the suspect got a bite mark injury around his mouth during the assault.
He's described as a white, tall man between 35 and 50 years old, with an average build and a beard.
Then on Saturday, Aug. 15, between 4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., a woman got off a bus in the area of Chinguacousy Road and Charolais Boulevard. As she walked home, a man she didn't know came out of the bushes and assaulted her.
The woman screamed for help and the suspect took off running down a nearby pathway.
He's described as light skinned, between 20 and 30 years old, bald, clean-shaven, with a medium build. He was wearing a black soft jacket with the hood up, black pants and black shoes.
Police say the victim was injured but the injuries weren't life-threatening.
At this time, investigators haven't been able to link the two incidents.
