"Their safety systems worked and that is the most important thing."
Two window washers will have a story to tell after the swingstage they were using, collapsed at a highrise in Mid-town Toronto.
Toronto Fire crews say both were near the 25th floor of the building on Yonge, just south of Eglinton, around 12:30 on Thursday.
For some reason, the swingstage collapsed, and fell to the ground, leaving the men dangling from their safety harnesses.
The stage crashed on the sidewalk below, but miraculously, no one was hurt.
The men scrambled to a ledge, and waited until fire crews broke a window, to pull them inside to safety.
No injuries were reported, but the Ministry of Labour has been called in to investigated why the swingstage gave way.
