It looks like Uber has changed its tune on whether to compensate drivers who become infected with the coronavirus or are quarantined.
The ride-sharing company announced Saturday that it will now offer its drivers and delivery people paid sick leave - for up to 14 days - if they become sick with the virus.
But, it's not clear how much money they'd get.
Uber's workforce are considered to be independent contractors - and not eligible for benefits - so this temporary policy change is totally unexpected.
The policy will be expanded worldwide, as the spread of the virus continues.
To the best of its knowledge, the company says there has been no spread of the coronavirus between its drivers and riders or vice versa.
Uber also confirms to our media partner CTV News Vancouver that it has a "dedicated global team" working "to respond as needed" in markets where the company operates.
Lyft - Uber's closest competitor - also says it will "provide funds to drivers" - if any are diagnosed with COVID-19.
