A Toronto elementary school is in a 'hold and secure' after what police call an unconfirmed threat.
Officials from Duke of Connaught Jr. & Sr. Public School near Queen St E and Greenwood Ave called police at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
Police are on scene investigating but would not detail the nature of the threat or how the school was made aware of it. The area of Queen and Woodfield Rd is closed.
The Toronto District School Board says learning is continuing as usual inside Duke of Connaught under the hold and secure which sees a school's outer doors locked with no one coming in or going out.
TDSB spokesman Ryan Bird says there is also extra vigilance about who might be around the school.
Bird points out TDSB schools are in a state close to a hold and secure most of the time with visitors having to be buzzed in.
