York Regional Police have identified the victim of a deadly shooting in Vaughan.
29 year-old Oshaine Channer of Peel Region was gunned down at an industrial plaza on Freshway Drive, northwest of Keele Street and Steeles Avenue west.
There are reports that there may have been a party or some type of get-together or gathering Saturday night, prior to the shooting. It's not yet known how many people were there.
Constable Laura Nicolle tells our media partner CP24 that it's also still unclear what time the shooting took place.
The investigation began after police were notified that a second man had turned up at a Toronto hospital just before 7:30 a.m. Sunday, suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. That's what led police to Freshway Drive, where Channer was located. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers have been canvassing the area for surveillance footage.
Police are also appealing to anyone who was in the area during the gathering Saturday night; anyone who may have driven by or has dashcam video to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
There's still no suspect information.
And, investigators still don't know if this double shooting is connected to an earlier shooting near Jane St. and Shoreham Drive in North York. No victims were found in that case, but officers did find several shell casings in the area.
