Toronto Police remained at the scene in Regent Park Tuesday evening, after a 15-year-old boy was shot to death in broad daylight in the afternoon.
Police were called to 230 Sackville Street, off of Dundas and east of Parliament, just after 4:20 p.m.
The boy has been identified as Mackai Bishop Jackson of Toronto.
"EMS arrived on scene and attended to the male, giving him life-saving efforts," police spokesperson Gary Long told NEWSTALK1010. "Sadly, he was pronounced deceased at the scene."
There are currently few details on suspects, with witnesses spotting one male running away from the scene.
Witnesses also told CP24 it happened on the 8th floor of an apartment building - and that has left neighbours extremely worried.
"I have four children, three of them are girls," one woman said. "I need them to feel safe in our neighbourhoods. I want all children (and) all families to feel safe in our neighbourhoods."
"It's terrifying. It's very scary when something like this happens very close to home, but this happens all the time. This is not new."
This was the second shooting death in Toronto in less than a 20-hour period, and the third shooting incident - following a double shooting and stabbing inside a Rexdale apartment Tuesday morning.
Monday evening, a 27-year-old man was shot and killed outside of a community centre near Sheppard Ave. East and Don Mills. Police say he was amongst a group standing outside when a dark-coloured four-door sedan drove by and began firing shots at the group.
The victim has been identified as Paul 'Boulos' Rizk of Toronto.
Tuesday's shooting in Regent Park marks Toronto's 81st homicide of the year.
