Toronto Police say they have made two arrests in an investigation into a series of violent street robberies in the Finch Avenue and Keele Street area.
Four robberies had been reported between Oct. 12 and Oct. 20 south of York University in the area bounded by Finch Avenue West to the south,The Pond Road to the north, Keele Street to the east, and Sentinel Road to the west.
In one instance a victim was punched in the face, in another the victim had a knife held to their back.
Police said they got "varying descriptions" of suspects.
In a news release sent out Sunday police said 20-year-old Philip Okeugo of Toronto has been charged with robbery with violence. 21-year-old Betu Kalala of Toronto charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, two counts of robbery with violence, robbery with a weapon and utter threat.
Police believe they are still looking for more people in connection with these crimes and remind everyone to be aware of their surroundings when walking.
