Two young sisters are in hospital after tumbling out a second storey window of a Scarborough home.
Police say the girls aged two and three were playing in a bedroom at the back of the townhouse near Sheppard Ave E and Neilson Rd at about 8:50 p.m. Investigators could not say exactly what happened only that a window screen became dislodged and the toddlers fell onto concrete or rocks below.
The girls' mother was in a different part of the home at the time.
Police said early Tuesday that the three-year-old had been stabilized and is expected to make a full recovery. While the two-year-old was also stabilized overnight, her injuries are considered to be more serious.
