A boy at the centre of an Amber Alert has been found safe near Windsor.
Peel Regional Police say the five-year-old was found Thursday with his mother in Tilbury, Ont., nearly 300 km from where they were last seen.
The news came just hours after investigators issued an Amber Alert for the child, who had last been seen with his mother in Mississauga on Wednesday afternoon.
Police say the boy was found as a direct result of the Amber Alert.
The boy had been reported missing at 9:20 a.m. by his father.
Investigators had previously said the boy's mother had a pre-existing medical condition that makes her act out of character if not treated, and they weren't sure if she had her medication with her.
