Toronto fire says one person is dead after a two-alarm fire at a home in North York.
The fire started on the main floor of the house on Bathford Crescent near Leslie Street and Finch Avenue around 12:25 p.m. Saturday.
Toronto fire says the bulk of the fire was knocked down around 12:45 p.m.
Officials have not identified the victim, but her niece told CP24 it was her 94-year-old Aunt Iris Alton who lived there.
Alton was the only person in the home at the time.
Authorities have not confirmed her identity and say no more information will be available for the next day or two as the investigation is underway.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
