The special weather statement from Environment Canada remains in effect for Toronto calling for snow followed by plunging tempearatures Sunday night.
According to the weather service, Toronto could be in for additional amounts up to 5 centimetres before tapering off this evening.
In addition, a sharp Arctic cold front is forecast to sweep across the region early this evening. A sudden drop in temperature from near the freezing mark may make wet or snow-covered roads rather icy Sunday evening. Temperatures are expected to plunge to frigid double digit numbers overnight as low as -13 degrees.
Motorists should allow a little extra time to reach their destination, with particular heed to slippery road conditions this evening.
