For the second time this week, an unruly passenger has been arrested at Pearson airport for injuring a flight attendant.
Peel police say it started when a WestJet flight on its way to Vancouver came across a mechanical issue, after a bird strike shortly after takeoff.
They had to divert back to Pearson.
During the return, constable Mark Fisher says one of the passengers got upset.
"(He) assaulted a flight attendant as well as caused some internal damage to the plane," he says. "The damage was within the bathroom of the plane and did not affect the safety of the plane or any of the passengers."
68-year-old Randy Paholko from Vancouver has been charged with assault, endangering aircraft and two counts of mischief.
Earlier this week, an Air Canada flight to Hungary turned around after a 57-year-old man from Hamilton assaulted an attendant.
