Peel Regional police finally have their hands on a suspect that had eluded them for nearly a year.
On February 3rd, 2017 a Canada Wide warrant was issued for 26 year old Kartel Pye of no fixed address, after police responded to a report of a male suspect who had violently assaulted a female. Further investigation determined that the male had exploited the female victim in the sex trade for a period of time.
Nearly a year later, on January 15th, Pye was taken into custody by Halifax police in Dartmouth, N.S., and three days later, according to Peel Regional Const Bally Saini Pye was returned home.
"He was returned to Ontario by Peel investigators."
Pye appeared in court and was charged with Procuring, two counts of exercise control over a prostitute, two counts of derive a material benefit from sexual services, trafficking in persons, 3 counts of assault, sexualk assault and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
In total Pye faces 16 charges
