It was a pretty chaotic night on GTA roads, Friday.
At least seven people were struck by vehicles over a three hour period, with the first call coming into police around 5:30 p.m.
Newstalk 1010 has learned that the drivers remained at the scene in each of the incidents, except for one of the collisions in Brampton.
A Peel Regional Police spokesperson says they're looking for a driver that fled the scene of an incident at Meadowvale and Meadowpine Boulevards.
Speaking to our sister station CP24, Constable Akhil Mooken says they got a call around 5:30 this afternoon for a woman lying injured on the roadway.
"Upon arrival, she was transported to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition."
"It is believed at this time that this pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and that driver fled the scene and did not provide any assistance to this pedestrian."
There is no vehicle description at this time. The investigation into the hit and run continues.
It happened in an industrial area, so officers are hoping that surveillance video may have picked up the incident.
Also in Brampton, in a separate incident, a woman has died from life-threatening injuries she suffered after being struck by a vehicle at James Potter Road and Borelli Drive around 6:00pm.
Peel Police have identified her as 78-year-old Deotee Bhagwandin.
The 51-year-old male driver in that accident remained at the scene. There's no word on charges, but investigators do not believe speed or alcohol was a factor.
Toronto had five incidents of pedestrians being struck over the same period.
Toronto Police spokesperson, Constable Allyson Douglas-Cook is reminding drivers and pedestrians to exercise caution, considering the wet and slick road conditions.
"We're always encouraging everyone to just use extra care, especially with the weather and road conditions being wet and slippery and just pay attention to the roadway."
"We encourage pedestrians to use the proper crosswalks when crossing the road."
A couple of the more serious collisions happened in Scarborough just before 7 o'clock at McCowan Road and Sandhurst Circle, where the victim sustained life-threatening injuries and at McLevin and Morningside Avenues just after 7 o'clock, where another victim was struck.
Police have not yet released details on the conditions or names of each of the victims.
The investigations are ongoing.
