After a day and night of desperate searching, Cooper the dog has been reunited with his owners.
The golden Labradoodle had been missing in Hamilton since late Wednesday afternoon.
Cooper was supposed to be on a WestJet from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Deer Lake, Newfoundland and Labrador but somehow wound up in the Steel City. He took off from Hamilton's airport while out of his kennel for a walk.
Cooper's owners flew to Hamilton to look for "their baby" and were reunited with him around 9 a.m. on Friday.
"Some people called and said they had him trapped," owner, Terri Pittman tells NEWSTALK 1010. "We got there as fast as we could...he was a little scared at first but once he recognized me, he came to me pretty quickly."
Pittman says, despite his ordeal, Cooper seems to be in good shape.
