Fire crews are still on the scene of a five-alarm fire at a noodle bar in Baldwin Village that started Friday afternoon.
Officials now say damage is expected to be more than $2 million.
It started Friday around 1 p.m. on Baldwin Street near McCaul Street and spread to four adjoining homes.
Toronto Fire Chief Matthew Pegg told reporters it appears to have started in the kitchen of the restaurant before spreading into the ceiling and walls.
He says it was able to spread so quickly because the restaurant and homes shared an attic.
More 100 firefighters were on the scene working to contain the fire at the height of it.
They got things under control by 4 p.m., but Captain Michael Westwood tells CP24 crews remain on the scene Saturday monitoring for hot spots.
