Humber College says 77 students reported falling ill at the North Campus Thursday.
The symptoms included abdominal pain and vomiting.
Initial reports from Toronto Paramedics suggested that the illness appeared to be food poisoning.
They were called to the student residence just after 9:30 last night, where they transported about 30 people to hospital.
Humber's Dean of Students, Jen McMillan, told reporters that the source of the illness had not yet been determined but that food poisoning hadn't been ruled out.
"It wouldn't be up to us to rule out food poisoning. It is up to the health inspector who is providing that information," she said.
McMillan says food is still being served on campus.
The college says officials with Chartwells, the company that runs the school's cafeterias and kitchens, are at the North Campus to investigate.
