Another fatal pedestrian struck in the city of Toronto.
Just before 3 p.m. Monday afternoon, Toronto police received multiple calls for a pedestrian struck in the area of Dufferin street and Briar Hill Avenue. A Pickup truck believed to have struck the woman took off.
Const. Dave Hopkinson told Newstalk 1010 the victim, a female, now identified by CTV News as 50 year old Isabel Soria, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries and later died in hospital.
"Shortly after being taken to hospital, that woman succumb to her injuries and was pronounced deceased in hospital."
Toronto police are treating the incident as a fail to remain. And have a good idea of the type of truck that fled the scene.
"It's being described to us as a gun-metal grey F-1 (Ford) Pickup truck."
The driver of the truck is being described as a white male, who was wearing some type of construction vest.
The intersection and area around the accident site remains closed for investigation and reconstruction.
Hopkinson is hopeful the public may be able to come forward with either information and or video.
"We're looking for anybody that can identify the truck. Potentially anyone in the area that has a business that has cameras that might be pointed to the street or dashcam videos from private cars."
If you do you're asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
