If your gas tank is anywhere below full, go gas up now because prices are about to shoot upwards by double digits.
Experts warned a week ago that gas prices would be going up this week because Hurricane Harvey affected the refinery-rich state of Texas, but Dan McTeague with GasBuddy.com was not expecting the price jump we are about to experience.
Prices rose by 5 cents at midnight on Friday and they are expeted to jump another 9 cents a litre on Saturday morning.
That will bring prices to 132.9 in time for the long weekend.
"Do not shoot the messenger," McTeague joked on The Rush on NEWSTALK 1010. "I fell off my chair as well."
