The cleanup continues in Toronto after the first major snowfall of the year.
Environment Canada says about 15 centimetres of snow fall across the GTA.
Manager of Road Operations with the City of Toronto, Trevor Tenn, says crews have been out since before snow began, preparing the roads with brine solution. Plows and salters have been working to clear the highways and the main roads.
Now, Tenn says, they're working to clear the local roads. "We anticipate we should be finished by later tonight, maybe by midnight if not earlier," he explains.
He says you can help by not parking on the road if possible and by not shovelling snow onto the street.
Tenn says cleanup from this type of storm typically costs the city about $1.5 million dollars.
The snow doesn't come as a surprise. Tenn says the city typically sees one snowfall like this in December.

The heavy, wet snow and rain lead to a number of traffic issues.
The eastbound lanes of Highway 403 were closed early Monday morning between Dundas Street and Winston Churchill Boulevard following a collision involving a tractor trailer.
There was also a jackknifed truck on the southbound 410 at the 401.
A number of flights out of Pearson Airport have been cancelled and travellers are being advised to check their flight status.
