Environment Canada is warning that freezing rain is still possible across much of Toronto today, while missing the city of Toronto.
Freezing rain warnings remain in effect for areas north and west of London, stretching to close to Lake Huron, and north and east through Barrie and out through Peterborough and Belleville.
Toronto Hydro reported a few thousand customers without electricity by mid-morning, mostly in small pockets of a few hundred or less. Hydro One, which delivers electricity across the province, had about 25 thousand customers without electrcity. Representative Tiziana Baccega-Rosa said the organization is able to predict where trouble might happen, and crews were ready to move to make repairs. She added it's a good idea to keep an emergency kit ready, so that your household is prepared to go without electricity for up to 72 hours.
Environment Canada says travel conditions across much of the province are likely to be ``very poor''.
Drivers are advised to budget extra time to get around, and air travellers should check the status of their flights before heading to airports.
