The man Toronto Police believe phoned in a bogus report about someone with a gun is out on bail.
54-year old Gregory Goodridge was released on Thursday afternoon after facing a judge in a downtown courtroom.
Police arrested Goodridge on Wednesday and charged him with public mischief in connection with last week's commotion on King St.
The report shut down a stretch of the busy artery for several hours last Thursday, as negotiators tried to make contact with someone inside a pot dispensary located east of Spadina.
There were concerns that someone inside had taken a hostage but when police entered the building, they found it was empty.
Goodridge's bail conditions are that he must tell police where he's living, and that he must keep his distance from the dispensary that police swooped in on.
On Monday, police said the call had been made from a payphone near Spadina Ave and Cecil St, south of College St and shared surveillance images of a suspect riding bike and dressed in a camouflage jacket.
Goodridge's next court hearing is scheduled for November 15th.
